Who We Are
RAHWA is a sustainable and an Ethical Fashion Brand, founded by our very own entrepreneur Rahwa Zeru in 2017. Our designs are inspired in bringing timeless looks to the products by our great attention to details and by taking a minimalistic, modern approach to a traditionally hand loomed textiles made by natural fibers like cotton.
With a background in engineering and fashion design our founder had a vision of starting her own fashion line, which produces and experiments in locally and traditionally produced hand loomed materials and reaching more a wide range of market locally and internationally. As we progress we became more passionate and conscious about Ethical and Sustainable Fashion, with this we renovate ourselves through building the most sustainable fashion brand by being purposeful on the material and the production process we use; the care we give to our employees and the contribution we deliver to our community growth.
Through our timeless designs we aspire to create a better environmental Consciousness by connecting our customers to their surroundings. Our designs are beautiful and are held in the present but do not die in the future nor is trapped in the past.

Enate Weaving Work PLC
Our social enterprise Enate Weaving Work PLC was established as part of a Farm to Fashion project, supported by SITA-ITC (Supporting Indian Trade and investment in Africa) to integrate small holder farmers, traditional hand loom weavers and micro garment making enterprises in a connected value chain, returning higher value to primary producers through producer owned companies.
Our company has established weaver and tailor owned companies by providing professional management services for legal and statutory compliances, upgraded technology and training and marketing opportunities to these companies, based in Bahir Dar, Ethiopia.
The mission of the enterprise is to create greater income at the bottom of the pyramid by tackling structural issues, such as technology, marketing, profit sharing modalities by supporting the process of creating several producer owned enterprises with an emphasis on women’s leadership. We seek a vertical integration among these companies and provide collective professional services to these entire small producer owned companies.
Our social enterprise demonstrates that professionally managed producer owned companies are equally if not better suited to sustain incomes at the bottom of the pyramid even in times of crisis, they can also help meet the demands of the country in its fight against the scourge. Our company also reaches out to the most vulnerable home-based weavers and tailors within the larger handloom eco-system in Bahir Dar by reaching raw material to them and outsourcing orders.
Our company aims at continuing to reach its goal of increasing employment and entrepreneurial capacity for women and youth in communities those are underserved and help maintain incomes of the artisans through quick adaptation to the COVID affected markets and economy.
Our primary beneficiaries are youth and women artisans who have come together to form social enterprises that they collectively own. Our secondary beneficiaries are the most vulnerable among the home-based artisans.
Our Brand: KIND
KIND stands for responsible and sustainable products which are good for you and good for the planet. It is a brand made 100% in Ethiopia, and it is made of 100% cotton. KIND is collectives owned by women and men weavers and garment makers come together to create gently crafted products for you. The fair wages and profits they earn enable them to live empowered lives.
Trio craft
Trio Craft specializes in authentic handmade textiles and carpets. Trio Craft has nearly 40 years of satisfied customers who appreciate the time and dedication the employees made evident in the carpets and fabrics. We have fostered the creativity of our employees but are more than willing to meet the particular needs of individuals or businesses that need customization.
Trio Craft Plc was started in Kenya in 1983 by Elizabeth Kassa, a businesswoman whose background was as a social worker. She wanted to help single mothers and decided to start Trio Craft as a vehicle to help empower women with opportunities. Elizabeth bought a table loom and taught herself how to weave; she then installed two full-sized looms in her garage and hired the first two single mothers. From these humble beginnings, she eventually expanded to employ over 100 workers by the time she left Nairobi Kenya in 2004. Trio craft’s high standard for quality and customer satisfaction resulted in supplying textiles and carpets for the top hotels in East Africa countries like Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. Four of her former employees have opened their own weaving companies; Trio Craft in Nairobi, Kenya is still thriving and continuing the tradition of excellence. In 2004 Elizabeth built a five-story factory and started a Trio Craft in Addis Ababa Ethiopia.
